The whole of the United Kingdom, as well as many parts of Europe, are dotted with mighty castles and fortresses, all with their own amazing tales to tell. In Scotland however, there are few castles with the storied history that the 12th-century Edinburgh Castle can lay claim to.
Steeped in history, Edinburgh successfully manages to blend old and new with big city confidence. To some, our five day stay may not seem enough time to fully absorb the sights, sounds and texture of this vibrant city in the hills. For us however it proved to be an immersive and informative experience that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Castlerigg Stone Circle is located on the perfect natural plateau with a commanding 360-degree view of the ring of mountains surrounding the site. It is perhaps one of the most atmospheric and dramatic places we have ever visited and with the sky opening and closing every few minutes, changing from full sun to shade, it was positively breathtaking.
Richmond Park offers a myriad of world-class concerts, year-round cultural events, community based projects and enough food venues to satisfy your appetite after a morning or afternoon of walking. It is no wonder that Londoners and travellers alike flock to these grand parks for respite from the city
Loreto, Mexico is many things. One thing it is not is Cabo San Lucas.
There are no cruise ships, partygoers or spring-break revelry. For discerning travelers looking for a more peaceful, laidback commune with nature Loreto ticks all the boxes. Easy to get to and even easier to get around, Loreto is the perfect place to escape the crowds while discovering paradise by the sea.
